Before you go getting head shots, know what your type is and what you are going to use the head shots for. In other words, what kinds of roles do you want to be considered for?

Have a look at this page on my site for new and aspiring actors. It has to do with head shots. You’ll find Peter Hurley, one of the best NY photographers and a lot of comments from him about questions to ask to photographers, how to find them, how to make sure you get really good shots. You’ll also find links to his site. If you are just starting out, I don’t know that I would recommend spending the money he himself might charge you for head shots, but I do know that he recently just created a Peter Hurley2 group of head shot photographers, that are good and who charge a lot less.

Good luck!

Your mom is speaking to the wrong coach. HS coaches have NO idea what college coaches are looking for as they do not have the insight into the programs being run. You need to put together an athletic resume and provide this along with information about your scholastic acheivements and get this to coaches at the college level. It doesn’t matter what level of competition you are at or hoping for. Obviously, you aren’t going to apply to PAC10 schools, but there are MANY competitive D1 programs that have space, needs, money for those who might not be “all state”.

That being said, you can also look for scholarships in other areas- not just athletic or academic. If you are a senior and just looking into this stuff now, you are WAY behind the ball. You may want to consider JuCo for the immediate future with an eye towards transferring upon getting your Associates.

When I started at FedEx Express 5 years ago, I started at $11.64/hour and worked about 20 hours a week. It was third shift, so I got a third shift premium of $0.50/hour (this premium is no longer there). The benefits at FedEx are great. For a single person, it’s less than $40 per month, and that covers full medical, dental, vision, psychiatric, and drug and alcohol dependency. FedEx also provides tuition reimbursement. There is also an agency within FedEx known as the FedEx Employee Association, that deals with companies for whom we ship and get FedEx employees discounts on products and services (for example, cell phones and cell phone plans, cars, cruises, etc.). Also, because FedEx is considered an airline, you would be considered an airline employee and can get really, really cheap airfare (about $30 to Florida). We used to be able to fly on FedEx planes for free anywhere in the world but after 9/11 that changed, understandably.

Note: this is all true for FedEx EXPRESS. I’m not sure the rules for FedEx Ground, Freight, or any others.

2. in the bacl of hte keyboard there are several small screws remove them.
3. flip the keyboard right side up, remove the top voer with out removing the keys (if not it might just get messy)
4. YOu should see a plastic layer between your keys and the IC 5. lift the plastic layer right under the esc key make sure that the contact is pushed up. (DO NOT lift the whole thing up)
6. verify that the key is working properly by pressing and letting go the key should bounce back up.
If it doesn’t gently pry off the esc key and see if there is anything that is causing the key to stick maybe use a little rubbing alcohol to clean it.
put the cover back on the keyboard, flip the keyboard over and put the screws back in place.

that should be all .

Though the cockatiel is one of the most popular pet birds, they are not one of the better talking birds. I say this only to give you a real idea of what you can expect.
As with any pet, whether it’s a dog or a bird, repetition is the key to success. The easier the word is to pronounce, the easier it may be to repeat. Start with repeating a word such as “hello” or “pretty bird” trying to keep it as simple as possible. As the bird matures it may surprise you by saying something it has learned on it’s own.
The male cockatiel has proven to be the best talkers, but the female can also learn to talk. Also, it is much easier to “teach” without a lot of distractions, set aside time where you and your companion bird can be alone. Bottom line, repetition and patience…

First ask your existing clients for referrals. Referred leads are the best leads.

Also, if you’re looking for commercial leads I love http://www.infousa.com/ You can search in a specific radius and for a specific industry so if you specialize in restaurant insurance you can get a list of all the restaurants in the immediate area. Plus they tell you the contact person, the approximate number of employees, how much the company did in sales in the previous year. It’s great info for insurance agents. The more leads you buy the cheaper the cost per lead. There are other lead programs out there, but this is the only one I have direct experience with so the others may be just as good (or better). However I can vouch to being happy with InfoUSA.

Hope this helps!
